Palm Sustainability

    Sustainability / Palm Sustainability

“At IFFCO, we recognise the vital role of forests in protecting biodiversity, sustaining ecosystems for long-term crop production, and supporting livelihoods.”

We also recognise the potential environmental impacts, including deforestation risks, associated with the production and processing of agricultural raw materials, and we aim to work on food security in an environmentally friendly way.

    OUR DEFORESTATION-FREE PROGRESS

Palm is a particular focus for IFFCO, and we work closely with our suppliers to take proactive measures in addressing the industry-wide issues of deforestation linked to palm oil expansion.

We are committed to work together with suppliers and key stakeholders in greening the palm supply chain. We communicate all sustainability requirements with our suppliers, in line with IFFCO Group Policy on Sustainable Palm Oil and our Supplier Code of Conduct.

At IFFCO, we have used the No Deforestation, No Expansion on Peat and No Exploitation Implementation Reporting Framework (NDPE IRF) to monitor and report on our progress towards ending deforestation in our palm supply chain and help identify implementation gaps.

IFFCO has been using NDPE IRF since 2020 and our profiles are verified by Control Union. In 2023, IFFCO increased its No Deforestation delivering score to 76.7% and its No Peat delivering score to 79.3%.
